Tiny House Water Heater Walkthrough

October 29, 2017

A water heater is one of the more complicated appliances in a house, especially a tiny house. We decided to outfit our tiny house with a propane on demand water heater. On-demand water heaters are great for tiny homes because they don’t have a tank. Like their name implies, the water heater heats the water only when it’s turned on.

The beginning of the video was shot in November 2016, when we were still working on our prepping for siding the tiny house. We had to get what we call our “utility boxes” that fit on the front side of the house. We used one of those utility boxes to house our nice little water heater.

Then we show the completed version of the house, including the utility boxes which we wrapped with cedar. We picked cedar because we already are using cedar for part of our siding, and it’s very water resistant. Also, Dylan has a strange attachment to cedar in general.
